Experts debate mental health at UASD in San Francisco
CODOPSI held a regional symposium at the UASD in San Francisco de Macorís to analyze mental health challenges.

My lovely people from our beloved land of the Jaya, mental health took center stage academically in our town! 🧠✨ The Dominican College of Psychologists (CODOPSI), through its Northeast Regional Board of Directors, organized the Northeast Regional Symposium under the theme "Clinical, Social, and Psychological Perspectives from a Comprehensive View." This important scientific gathering took place at the facilities of the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD) campus in San Francisco de Macorís, as part of the Health Week activities for the 2026-2027 period.
The event kicked off with opening remarks by Diomeira Almonte R., the regional coordinator of the guild, and featured guidance from the institution's national president, Miguel Lora. 🇩🇴 Through our dear platform, prominent specialists shared their knowledge with the scientific and professional community from across the region. Among them, Alfa Yanet Frías spoke about trauma in childhood and adolescence, while Diomeira Almonte Rosa discussed community impact. 🗣️ Also participating were Juan Vargas addressing anxiety disorders, Wildania Peralta with the clinical approach to sexuality, and Jonathan Honil closing the training sessions with human resources topics.
The event also included a panel entitled "The Different Faces of Psychology: Challenges and Opportunities for Professional Practice from a Comprehensive View," moderated by Katherine Acevedo and featuring valuable contributions from Raquel Brito, Tahímes Rosario, Marlyn Fabián, Mary Ann Brito, and Feldín Dediel Reyes Linares. 🌟 To wrap up this great day of continuous training and social well-being with a flourish, the committee presented recognition plaques to the speakers and we enjoyed the wonderful artistic performance by vocalist Milca Antigua, showcasing the great talent and commitment we have in our Duarte province. 🎶👏
