Our people in San Francisco de Macorís remain attentive to issues of safety and family well-being. On the morning of Sunday, October 11, a 23-year-old girl showed up before local authorities to ask for help, claiming that her common-law partner was physically abusing her.
According to the police report from the Duarte province, the complainant explained that the 50-year-old man kept her locked inside the house so she couldn't alert the justice system about the constant abuses she was suffering.
