Help requested to bring the body of a young man killed in The Bronx to SFM
Family members are asking the diaspora for support to repatriate the body of 18-year-old Emanuel Durán Tolentino to San Francisco de Macorís.
Our community from San Francisco de Macorís in the Big Apple is going through moments of deep sorrow after the tragic loss of our young compatriot Emanuel Durán Tolentino, who was only 18 years old and lost his life last Monday in The Bronx borough, New York. Language and description by his mother Rosa Tolentino Ramos: the boy was a quiet and hardworking son who worked night shifts. He was attacked with a knife while walking with a friend in the area of Walton Avenue and East Fordham Road. Faced with this harsh situation, the family has started the necessary consular and logistical procedures to transfer the mortal remains to our homeland and give him a Christian burial, which is why they are appealing to the solidarity of the entire diaspora and our people. The New York police authorities are keeping the investigation open regarding this case that brings mourning to the people of San Francisco de Macorís abroad, while loved ones cry out for justice and financial support to cover repatriation costs.
