Francomacorisano Pride! Lidom dedicates tournament to Héctor Rizek Llabaly

My beautiful people of San Francisco de Macorís who follow us from the Big Apple and all over the American Union, we bring you news that touches the heart of our beloved Duarte province. During the radio show Primera Bola, our dear Junior Matrillé, who has been in sports journalism for over 20 years and is the voice of the Gigantes del Cibao, talked about the most memorable moments of his career and the impact of our land on national sports.

In this space, a well-deserved tribute was paid to the memory of Don Héctor José Rizek Llabaly, affectionately remembered as the «Cocoa Lord». Matrillé recalled his valuable contributions to the business and social growth of our city, highlighting his closeness with farming families, his love for the land on the La Esmeralda farm and the emblematic Sendero del Cacao, consolidating an indelible legacy for all people from San Francisco de Macorís.

As a sign of deep affection and respect for his career, the LIDOM Board of Directors made the unanimous decision to posthumously dedicate the upcoming 2026-2027 autumn-winter baseball championship to him. This recognition applauds his valuable support for Dominican sports, the outstanding work of the Rizek family leading our Gigantes del Cibao, and the constant boost to the development of our beloved Duarte province.
