Francomacorisano pride! They will honor the memory of maestro Juan B. Mejía
UASD San Francisco and an organizing committee are preparing a special event to remember the 29th anniversary of the passing of maestro Juan B. Mejía.

My beautiful people from our Sultana of the Genipap and from the diaspora who always carry San Francisco de Macorís in your hearts, we bring you details of a very important event being prepared in our homeland. A committee of fellow fighters and political leaders joined forces with the authorities of UASD San Francisco Campus to coordinate the 29 years since the departure of the remembered maestro Juan Bautista Mejía. The solemn commemorative event is set for this Friday 23rd at 10:00 in the morning in the Maestra Ana Luisa Arias assembly hall of the university campus. To fine-tune all the details, the organizing committee visited the general director of the center, Rosa Francia Burgos, in a meeting that also included figures such as administrative deputy director Rosa Urania de la Cruz and past director Lourdes de la Cruz. During the event, which seeks to inspire new generations by remembering his great academic and social legacy, speeches will be given by Rafael Chaljub Mejía, Altagracia Salazar, and Julio Díaz Campusano. This distinguished native of San Francisco de Macorís is remembered for his tireless anti-Trujillo struggle, his bravery in the April Revolution of '65, his firm stance against the governments of Joaquín Balaguer, and his valuable contribution to the expansion of our state university. The invitation is open to all teachers, students, workers, intellectuals, and the general public who value the memory of those who gave so much for our Northeastern region and the Dominican Republic.
