The top representatives of the National Federation of Rice Producers (FENARROZ), Marcos Rodríguez and Juan Pablo Pérez, spoke out from their local headquarters to express their total backing of President Luis Abinader's decisions.
Directors highlighted that this grain goes far beyond agriculture, being the engine of thousands of families across 21 provinces and a fundamental pillar of our food security and social peace. Following the recent uncertainty caused by the repeal of Decree 693-24, the entity fully trusts in this new stage of negotiations with the United States to defend the national interest.
Likewise, the board reminded us of the large investments made in technology and infrastructure since DR-CAFTA, warning about inequalities compared to the US market. FENARROZ reiterated its willingness to walk alongside the government to protect the fruit of our land and ensure that our people's livelihood is never lost.
