Mourning in SFM over the death of Francisco Almanza
Francisco Almanza is found shot dead in his SFM home after reporting robberies; a young man turned himself in to the authorities.
Our people from San Francisco de Macorís remain shaken following the tragic passing of our fellow townsman Francisco Almanza, 54, who was found lifeless with a gunshot wound inside his home located in the Los Chiripos sector.
According to the information released, Almanza had recently reported being the victim of constant robberies at his residence and business, also stating that he had received threats and mentioning a young man known as José Candado in connection with these events.
Following what happened, the accused young man turned himself in to the police authorities this very Thursday and is currently under investigation by Dicrim and the Homicide Department, while denying any involvement in the case and acknowledging that he had differences with the deceased.
Amidst the deep grief of his loved ones, Almanza's body was buried this Thursday. Meanwhile, Virgilio Almánzar, from the Dominican Commission for Human Rights, expressed his support for the family and demanded that justice be served, while local authorities continue to deepen their investigations.
