Business leaders from San Francisco de Macorís call to address the family crisis
The CRD, based in San Francisco de Macorís, warns that insecurity starts at home and calls for a comprehensive state plan.

My lovely people of Serie 56 who closely follow the happenings of our homeland, we want to share that from San Francisco de Macorís, the Regional Development Council (CRD) raised its voice to reflect on crime and security in the Dominican Republic.
Spokespersons for the organization explained, with data in hand from the Public Ministry and their own analyses, that the vast majority of cases reaching the prosecutors' offices and complaints from the first quarter of 2026 have their roots in problems within homes and domestic violence.
For Ysócrates Andrés Peña Reyes and Juan Alfonso Mera Montero, directors of the organization, it is urgent that the authorities implement a security plan as a state policy, remembering that prevention is much cheaper than repression and that everything starts with strengthening the family.
