Two compatriots linked to detective robbery in New York
Two young Dominican immigrants are pointed out as the alleged attackers of a New York police officer.

My Serie 56 people in the USA, a heavy situation has shaken our community in New York. According to information shared by Fox News journalist Bill Melugin, citing sources from the Department of Homeland Security, two young Dominicans are allegedly responsible for the violent assault and attempted murder against NYPD detective José Mercedes, which happened last Friday. The individuals involved were identified as Sneider Mejía Bautista, 24 years old, and Dangelo Rafael Jean Caraballo, 25 years old. The report indicates that the officer, who is also of Dominican origin and hails from the municipality of Nizao, was intercepted off-duty as he headed to his vehicle with the intention of stealing a gold chain. After being stabbed several times, the officer managed to run after the thugs and, thank God, he was already discharged from the hospital this Monday amid applause from his colleagues. Information indicates that both suspects reportedly entered illegally through the San Luis border on different dates and have prior records in the US judicial system. So far, the authorities are still hot on the heels of those involved, while our diaspora keeps a very close eye on this unfortunate event affecting one of our own on North American soil.
