CRD pitches ambitious ten-year citizen security plan in San Francisco 🇩🇴
The Regional Development Council proposed a project focused on family support, jobs for youth, and police reform in the region.

Straight from our San Francisco de Macorís, the Regional Development Council (CRD) rolled out an initiative to transform public safety for the 2026-2036 period. The proposal, signed off by Ysócrates Andrés Peña Reyes and Juan Alfonso Mera, aims for this issue to be tackled as a State policy with legal backing and a guaranteed budget.
This cool proposal zeroes in on social well-being through programs like "Strong Family, Safe Neighborhood" ("Familia Fuerte, Barrio Seguro") and "Homes of Peace" ("Hogares de Paz"), which would hand out monthly aid tied to kids staying in school. On top of that, it includes subsidies to create ten thousand jobs aimed at youth from vulnerable areas and a fund of two hundred million pesos to back up local startups in the area.
When it comes to the police force, they're suggesting a base net salary of forty thousand pesos for officers and hooking them up with body cams. Plus, for the Northeast and Central Cibao, the plan brings in two thousand cameras linked to 9-1-1, panic buttons in businesses and motoconcho taxi stands, and the opening of seventy community justice houses.
