Authorities in San Francisco de Macorís help young woman after reporting assault
A 23-year-old young woman received help and protection in San Francisco de Macorís after reporting violence and confinement by her partner.
The authorities of our town provided support to a 23-year-old young woman from San Francisco de Macorís, who came to ask for help after stating that she was a victim of physical abuse by her 50-year-old romantic partner in San Francisco de Macorís.
According to the official report, the woman showed up this Sunday morning, October 11, before police agents. There she declared that her partner kept her locked inside the house in order to prevent her from being able to file a formal accusation.
After hearing her testimony, members of the Specialized Directorate for Women's Care and Intrafamiliar Violence channeled her to the Gender Violence Unit of the Public Ministry. By order of the coordinating magistrate, the affected woman received assistance in a health center and was sheltered in a safe house to take care of her integrity.
