Attention my people! 48-hour strike announced across Duarte province
Social organizations call for a general strike for October 19 and 20 after not receiving satisfactory responses from the authorities.

My lovely people of our beloved Duarte province, get ready because the social organizations in the area have just announced a general shutdown. The strike is scheduled to last for exactly 48 hours, covering October 19 and 20 in San Francisco de Macorís, Pimentel, Las Guáranas, and other neighboring communities.
The announcement was made by our dear fellow townsman José Mercado, who serves as the spokesperson for the collective. As he explained, the decision was made in a community assembly after exhausting institutional channels. Community leaders previously visited the Municipal City Hall and the Provincial Governor's Office to deliver a document detailing the people's demands.
However, considering that the responses received from the authorities were neither sufficient nor satisfactory, they decided to go ahead with the protest. The organizers made it clear that the event will remain peaceful but very active, and they announced that they will carry out several prior mobilizations to warm up the engines before the main dates.
From our beloved community of San Francisco de Macorís abroad, we continue to closely follow everything happening in our homeland. The collective urges all sectors to stay very tuned to the guidelines they will give in the coming days, while maintaining hope that the authorities will resolve the people's needs.
