Clarify statements after Dominican shot in the Bronx by ICE agent 🇩🇴
Official statements regarding the New York mayor are debunked after the shooting of a Dominican immigrant in the Bronx. 🗽

My people from the Bronx and our entire community in the Big Apple, the truth about recent immigration operations keeps giving us something to talk about. 🔥 On October 8, 2026, an ICE agent shot a Dominican immigrant named Oscar Bergal, who was accompanied by a five-year-old child during an operation in the Bronx. 👦🏽
Following the incident, Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin held a press conference on October 9, 2026, to give the official version and criticize New York Mayor Zoran Mamdani. 🗣️ Mullin claimed the mayor had not spoken out about the stabbing of a police detective that occurred on October 2, 2026, by two Dominican citizens.
However, records show this is false. 🛑 On the very day of the attack on the detective, Mayor Mamdani posted a message on his X account reporting on the officer's health status and went to Jacobi Hospital along with Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch to visit the agent and his family. 🏥
Likewise, ICE's initial statement on X claimed that the Dominican wounded in the Bronx was linked to the Trinitarios gang and asserted that this gang had murdered a CBP agent last year. ⚠️ However, reports indicate that Agent Joshua Sinclair was injured in the face and arm during an incident on July 19, 2025, but survived.
For that attack on the border patrol officer, the courts sentenced Miguel Francisco Mora Núñez to 15 years in prison for shooting and injuring the agent, and Christian Aybar-Berroa to 12 and a half years as an accomplice, both undocumented immigrants from the Dominican Republic, according to court documents and local media reports. ⚖️
